At our June meeting, Ronnie Alder was named the recipient of the Joe Schield Volunteer Award for his 125 hours of service to the Heritage Society. Ronnie was also presented with a citation from Delegate Ric Metzgar for his dedication to our organization.
The Heritage Society of Essex and Middle River is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. Volunteers like Adrienne help keep the history of Essex alive by donating their time by conducting tours, arranging displays, maintaining the building and grounds and working on the archives. Each year Ron (Daddy Kool) Alder is able to offer financial assistance to various Veteran’s groups. Through the help of his faithful sponsors and participants of the classic car show, he is able to make his part of the Essex Day Festival successful. Ron recently received the Wounded Warriors Blanket for the $1000 donation he was able to provide from contributions made by Essex Day participants.
