Hello from a native Essex boy. My name is Charlie Kostos, I grew up at 11 Homberg Ave & worked at Raymond’s Men’s Store on Eastern Ave in Essex . I thought that Mac Donald’s opened on New Eastern ave between Stemmers Run school
& Middlesex Shopping Center back in the 60’s ?? Does anyone remember ? Thanks I remember Hollywood Park and a lot of great memories
Hi Charlie!
I was born in 1940 at Old Eastern Ave. about 1/4 mile from Josenhand’s corner. My first job as a stock boy at S. S. Kresge’s variety store in Middlesex Shopping Center, between from 1956 to 1958. I’m thinking of visiting soon again for a lot of memories I had up to about 1969.

There was definitely a Gino’s there. I think it was Gino’s #1. #2 was on Pulaski Highway near the City line.
Definitely a Gino’s. My Dad used to work there while he was a student at Kenwood HS. C/O 1965!
